One final email has landed in the RISCOSitory bunker before things get fully shut down for the duration of the London Show, and it’s from Chris Hall:
The 368 page Impression User Manual (in the form of a PDF file) was originally provided free to purchasers of Impression X. This User Manual is now available in electronic form free to all users of Impression Style (which is free to download from !Store), Publisher and Publisher Plus from !Store.
A printed version of the manual is still available, normal price £25, which includes a personal download link for Impression Publisher Plus version 5.13, courtesy of RISC OS Developments. I shall be discounting the few remaining copies of this manual at the show.
Although the User Manual was created in Impression, with contents and index created automatically, the PDF that was produced was designed to produce a printed manual. It therefore has no internal links. The RingBind version of the User Manual does have page to page links from the Contents pages, section to section and all 12 pages of the Index.
I shall be handing out USB sticks at the show free of charge with the latest version of !FamTree, version 1.58 (May 2024) [which will be made free to download from !Store after the show]. The USB sticks are only 32Mbytes so you can have as much of the other software listed below as will fit — for example a RingBind version of the RISC OS 5.30 User Manual (with over 3000 internal links) or both RingBind and PDF versions of the Impression User Manual. If you want more then I‘ll put it on your own USB stick or another 32MB stick. No individual zip file is larger than 14Mbytes. At least until stocks run out.
This amounts to over 242M bytes of data all on a 128Mbyte USB stick.
